The council government is dedicated to serving the Zhoa Municipality through a range of vital services aimed at improving the lives of our citizens. This includes fostering local commerce by establishing and upgrading markets like Abar, Weh, and Yemge, and extending essential infrastructure such as electricity to villages like Akang, Imo, and Ipalim (Mmen) to stimulate development. Furthermore, we are committed to strategic planning and project implementation, guided by our Development Plan and a robust monitoring system, all in an effort to build a more prosperous and sustainable future for our community within the Fungom Subdivision of the Menchum Division

Utilities

Water Supply: Management and provision of potable water.

Sanitation: Management of sewage systems, public toilets, and promotion of hygiene.

Waste Management: Collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste.

Electricity: Provision or management of local electricity distribution.

Town Planning and Infrastructure

Urban Development: Planning and regulation of construction and land use.

Road Maintenance: Construction and upkeep of local roads, streets, and pathways.

Public Parks and Green Spaces: Creation/management of recreational areas.

Primary Healthcare: Management of local health centers and dispensaries ( in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health).

Primary Education: Management and maintenance of public primary schools ( in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic Education).

Local Economic Development (LED): Promoting local businesses, markets, and employment opportunities.

Collection of Local Taxes and Fees: Utilizing revenues to fund local development projects.

Cultural and Sports Development
Supporting local cultural events and initiatives.

Civil Registration: Registration of births, deaths, and marriages.

Issuance of Local Permits and Licenses: For businesses, construction, and other activities.

Maintenance of Public Order and Security: Through municipal Police.
